1. In what ways do you think you improved your professional presence after completing the eP?
I learn that I should reach out to professional businesses and get my word out to possible employers. I realize that when I do get in contact to future employers, I should give out a business card. I think by having a business card would give easy and quick access to my information and how they could reach me. I would also like to add my wix site to that business card that contains my resume, about me, and what I have learned in my college experience.
2. Identify and explain what you like most about your eP.
What I like most about me ePortfolio, is that the format of my website. I believe that I was able to express my personality and creativity through this site, while showcasing what I have done in my time in college and what I do outside of college. I believe that by having a website reflecting who you are as a person can stand out to businesses.
3. Identify the most challenging aspect of the eP.
The challenging aspect of my eP is creating content for my course projects. Course projects from my classes takes a long time to create and showcasing it to my website can be nerve wrecking because not only do you get graded on it, but also I do have to keep in mind that future employers will see it.
4. What advice would you give future students about the eP?
I would tell future students creating an eP is to start early and build up your resume. I would advise them to get involved with a job, join a club or organization, receive a high rank position, and gain experience what you would think would be useful to a business. Also, knowing how to speak multiple languages or able to learn sign language can useful as well. Always do your best work and display your best work on your eP and be professional.
5. What component of this course was most interesting to you?
I was really interested with the family aspect of the course. It was somewhat connected to my research paper and I was able to gather evidence and learn more about family through communication between the sexes. I thought it was interesting on the toys aspect of the children and the statistics of how the father spends time with their children as oppose to the mother. This makes me wonder if these facts were to change drastically years to come, be stagnant, or goes the other way around.
6. What did you learn from the Research Paper?
I learned that the authoritative parenting style is the best tactic to raise a kid which results high self-esteem, learn discipline, learn to be honest and responsive, and give a outstanding performance in academics. The mother and father have different ways going about the parenting style, but would still ultimately get the same result using authoritative tactics. When there are two permissive parents, it would result their child becoming a delinquent, get depression, or do bad things. I also learn that authoritarian parenting styles are not always bad and can be good to help the child have high expectations and to do well.
7. How do you think this course could benefit you in your chosen career?
Although I am not sure on what career path I would take. I know that learning on how sexes communicate can help me understand and be aware of how I communicate with people whether it is within a job, peers, or strangers. From this course, I would be able to communicate better between the sexes and understand why communication is important.
