COMM 302: Reflection

1. Generally explain what you learned from the ePortfolio experience in this class.

   1. What I learned from this class for my ePortfolio was to be able to identify and be aware of professionalism. Not only is it important to have a professional outlook of content in the profile, but to make sure that the content can be easy to read to accommodate everyone. Mobile optimization is crucially important when being aware to anyone who looks into my profile. I want to make sure that my eportfolio to accessible and readable through any device, whether it be from the computer, phone, or an iPad. Everything in the device looks aesthetically appealing through a phone as well and must be centered when necessary. I also learned how to upload a video presentation through this eportfolio. I thought it would be very useful to show work through video presentations. I am glad that Wix was able to provide a gateway to enable students like me to showcase our works.

2. In what ways do you think your ePortfolio might help you in the future? How could you add to it?

   1. My ePortfolio will definitely help me out in the future for applying to internships and jobs. Since I am double majoring at ODU, I would need a lot of experience in order to use my degree to my advantage for my future career. By having an eportfolio, it keeps all of my work all in one place. Essentially, it provides my resume, my extracurriculars, my education levels, my work experience, and my volunteer opportunities. Eportfolios also is able to keep track of my course work and display the best work I have done during my college years, which would show skills that I have learned and be able to apply them for the future.

3. How was your main project experience for this COMM302 class? What could you have done differently looking back? What was most valuable?

   1. My main project experience was pretty successful overall. I was able to capture 15 strong and diverse responses from people around Virginia Beach and Norfolk. When I look back on it, I wish I was able to gain more responses in the survey. I wish that there were more people who gave detailed answers to the open-ended questions, not just one word. I would add in a section of sex because it would be interesting how sex can be applied whether males or females still kept in contact with their doctor during the pandemic. The valuable takeaway from this project is to be grateful for technology and modern communication skills used, especially when it comes to a sudden pandemic. I think it is admirable that either doctor or patients still try to find a way to maintain their health safely and still obtain all their healthcare needs.
